There was quite some buzz around AmBank's 4.00% p.a. 2-month tenure fixed deposit deal, which was shared here briefly before it was removed due to too many feedback that people were unable to get this FD rate when they called or visited their AmBank branch. The good news is that as of today, 16th January until the 31st January, this deal has now been opened to the public, and available online via eFD placements and using FPX to transfer fresh funds from other banks.
The minimum placement is RM10k, and you will need to enter the Reward Code 'BEST2' during your online placement. The AmBank promotion website has clear step-by-step instructions on how to perform a placement. Note that you'll need to open a CASA (current or savings) account with AmBank if you don't yet have one and enabled online banking.
Verdict - 4% for a 2-month placement is by far the highest FD rate in town, and is great for parking short term funds while planning out your next move.
